Free isn't the same as fit. Before a district or campus adopts an AI tool, it should clear three tests. FIT is vendor-neutral: it scores any tool — including mine.
Fit to Workflow
Does it match how teaching and learning actually happen — or is it built for individual productivity?
- Does it fit a real cycle: plan → deliver → assess → feedback?
- Does it remember the educator's context, or restart from zero every time?
- Does it save time after the human-review step, not before?
Integrity & Governance
Is it safe, accountable, and honest about student data and academic integrity?
- Is student data FERPA-safe? Where does it go — is it used for training?
- Is there a human-in-the-loop checkpoint before anything reaches a student or a grade?
- Does it support — not undermine — academic integrity and disclosure?
Teaching & Learning Value
Does it protect real learning — or just hand over answers?
- Does it preserve productive struggle instead of short-circuiting it?
- Can students learn to evaluate and edit its output, not just consume it?
- Is there evidence — even a small pilot — that learning improved?
